Arco Arco is located north of the higher plane of Garda, the final part of the Sacra river’s valley, which flows into Lake Garda. Arco stands in a position which is protected by the mountains and its closeness to Lake Grada allows this area to maintain a particularly mild climate.
North of Arco, there is a the famous “Patone” cave which extends itself horizontally and can be visited by anyone without any particular difficulties.
The ancient medieval castle dominates the entire valley at Garda’s highest point. The homes of the historical centre, which are in fact disposed by forming an arch, around the ruins of the old castle give the little town its name.
In Arco there are some rocky walls that can be considered a perfect gym for rock-climbers and free climbing lovers. Free climbing lovers have "nominated" the little town of Arco as the world’s sport climbing capital.
Every year, in September, a sport climbing challenge called Rock Master involves athletes from all over the world to win the Rock Master world title.
Arco is the head of therapeutical stay and modern accommodation structures. In Arco it is possible to practice sports likes paragliding, mountain biking, archery, sailing, horse-racing beside Alpinism and free climbing.
