Many believe that the name
Brenzone comes from the Brennus, a German tribe, who settled on Mont Baldo but the name probably came from some of the families of that area, in fact the Brenzoni’s.
The town’s territory, which is at the border with Malcesine, Ferrara di Monte Baldo, S. Zeno di Montagna and Torri del Benaco, extends itself for about 50 square kilometres, 65 meters above the lake’s water level and up to 2.200 meters from Cima Telegrafo.
In front of Assenza, the little island called Trimelone stands, which used to welcome military warehouses.
The town of Brenzone still has the sizes and features of one time, with its tourism that is the main activity of the entire lake, where you can find hotels, residences and campsites, beside the many restaurants in which you can taste the local food and wine (fish, oil, wine, etc.).
We must mention the activity carried out by the "Acquafresca" sport centre of Assenza and of the nautical club of Castelletto which can take advantage of the lake as one the best sailing places for regatta.
The Brenzone area is characterized by a very mild climate, typical of the lake zones, in fact temperatures are influenced by the waters of the lake. Brenzone is the best place for your holidays, if you love nature.
