SISAN - MUSEUM OF ORNITHOLOGICAL FISHING TRADITIONS AND HUNTING IN THE LAKE GARDA DISTRICT

"Sisàn, inaugurated in May, 2009 is an ethno-anthropological museum which recalls the multiple century ornithological fair which takes place still today on the 8th September in Cisano di Bardolino: " La Sagra dei Osei" - The Bird Fair. Up to the 1960s the fair with its specialized market represented an important event, important for the poor economy of the lake area. It was a time when provisions and exchange of tools tied to hunting activities, fishing and agriculture - aboveall for wine growing took place.
A modern museum which shows its exhibits with the use of various multimedial supports in Italian, English and German.

The eight rooms of the museum are divided in:
* Representation of the Sagra.
* The Fishing room with a film which shows the function of the exhibits displayed. Other films describe the ancient ways of fishing on Lake Garda. Detailed information on the fish
in Lake Garda.
* An important ornithological exhibition divided into areas of nesting. The cards that accompany the birds exposed are comprehensive and up to date. It is also possible to listen to
the bird songs of the species exposed.
* A vast collection of old tools used in the various ancestral hunting activities are accompanied by written cards and films.
* Library, video library and a collection of newspapers and magazines.
* Upon booking guided visits for groups and school trips.
