Lake Garda’s typical products

Lake Garda’s wines

Vineyards are Lake Garda’a most ancient plants. The mild climate, their exposure to the sun, the equilibrium concerning rains and the temperature make this area of Lake Garda particularly fertile for wine production whose taste has been exalted since the times of Renaissance.
In 1968, the Bardolino and Bianco di Custoza brands were established. The quality of vineyards together with local wine growers organizational abilities make wine production pleasant and appreciated all over the world as well as becoming something for inhabitants to live on. Bardolino’s area of production can be divided into two zones. The oldest one, which produces classical DOC Bardolino DOC encompasses the whole territory including the towns of Bardolino and Garda and a part of Lazise, Cavaion, Costermano and Affi. Bardolino has a ruby-red colour which turns into carnet red while ageing, or rosé for Claret. Bardolino wine which is bottled within December 31st belongs to a vintage that had the grapes required can be considered Novello (New) because of its elegant and intense fruity colour.

Lake Garda’s olive oil

Vineyards and olive trees dominate the rural landscape of Lake Garda’s eastern riviera. The olive tree is considered as the undisputed lord in the northern part. The southern part is the kingdom of the vineyard, where you can find some olive trees here and there. Nowadays Lake Garda’s extra-virgin olive oil holds the European DOP brand, denomination of protected origin.

It is a characteristic kind of oil because it is light, easy to digest and has delicate fruity tones: a little jewel.

Wine, Olive Oil

Cantine Delibori : Winery : Bardolino

Delibori wineries were founded in 1971 by two partners named Walter Delibori and Giorgio Cristoforetti. Both the Delibori and Cristoforetti families still own the wine making business thanks to an integrated system which starts with the cure for vineyards up to wine-making, bottling and wine selling.
The research for good quality and the awareness of the need to change the vineyard has brought both the Delibori and Cristoforetti families towards the progressive abandonment of the old vineyard and in favour of the guyot, with minor returns which are able to guarantee a better quality and longevity of the glass. At the same time, a plan concerning a model winery was drawn which goal was producing real good quality drinkable wines.
The head office is located in Calmasino di Bardolino, in the province of Verona.

Cantina Caorsa : Winery : Affi

Owned by Consorzio Agrario Lombardo Veneto, the Caorsa winery was established in 1987 with the intention of making wine and to improve the value of wine, especially Bardolino wine, since it has always been located in the middle of the classic area of production.
Particular attention is given to vineyard management since fine wines can only be made from excellent quality grapes, which means they have to ripe, sound and concentrated. For further information visit the mini web site.
For this reason Caorsa Winery’s vinicultural technicians collaborate with members by suggesting them to root out the old vineyards and to plant new ones using a great number of parents per hectare with the espalier system in order to obtain a low production of grapes for each single plant.

The Lenotti wine cellars are located in Bardolino and are harmoniously set into this lakeside landscape and house up-to-date equipment for the making, storing and bottling of wine. Particular care and attention is dedicated to the quality and selection of grapes, each variety coming only from its specific typical area, and to the separate wine making processes carried out during the harvests from the individual vineyards.
